Clove terpenes are a byproduct obtained during the distillation of clove essential oil (Syzygium aromaticum). They contain a high concentration of light aromatic compounds that contribute to the characteristic spicy, woody, and warm scent of cloves. These terpenes are commonly used in fragrance formulations, flavor enhancements, and as a source of natural isolates for perfumery and aromatherapy.

Indonesia, being the world’s largest producer of clove, plays a significant role in supplying high-quality clove terpenes. The material is typically derived from clove leaves, stems, or buds through steam distillation.
